Some cautions

I've been getting comment spam. Since I will be deleting the spam as soon as I am able to, it would probably be a good idea to refrain from commenting on it ("Why is that stuff about phenylatylalinineketomine here?" Ugh, spam" -- and so on).

Also, there is a nasty little troll who signs himself "A-V," or "Analogue Voter," who has just accused me of supporting dictators because I refused to get into some sort of tedious argument with him on his chosen topic. I will be deleting this person's further comments as soon as they appear (and I am sure they will -- he's too cowardly to post from a static IP address so banning his ass is not an option) so don't bother replying to any of his droppings.

Out of some irrational compulsion to be fair, I have to point out that troll-boy might not be posting from dynamic IPs because he's a coward, but because he has dialup.

Of course, since you have the IP addresses, maybe you have evidence of deliberate address or proxy-hopping we don't.

No, he's obviously a coward. Intellectually and otherwise, regardless of his IP situation.

Because only intellectual cowards behave as he has.

I theorize it's his tiny penis that causes it all.

I haven't yet had any comment spam, so I can't vouch for the effectiveness of the technique described on this page - but you might be interested in taking a look.

I thought his comments were entirely reasonable.

It seemed he was pointing out the hypocrisy in the US purporting to liberate Iraq whilst supporting dictators elsewhere in the world.

Well, Foo Bar, that's the way it goes. It's his/her philosophy, and apparently yours, that if you can't solve ALL of the world's problems in one fell swoop, you're not justified in solving ANY problem in the world. Unfortunately, that's a formula that guarantees that nothing gets solved. But then, maybe that's your point. After all, we wouldn't want the dictator's club known as the U.N. from getting mad at us, would we?
