Wait for the big kaboom

Oh, this is just great: Tons of boric acid hijacked in SoCal.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Law enforcement agencies in the Los Angeles area were on alert Friday night for a stolen truck hauling 44,000 pounds of boric acid, a material that can be used as an ingredient in explosives.
Oh, goody.

You know, you should know better than to jump to conclusions. That boric acid might have been diverted to the members of Democratic Underground to clean out their eyes so that they could read and comprehend properly. You don't know.

Maybe someone had a lot of whites to get whiter, or a very large carpet with lots of fleas. (That's what my stepmother used to use 20-Mule Borax for. Bleached the carpet, she did. Quite frankly she was so soused half the time that I don't know why the house didn't just blow up...)

Eh, that's "20 Mule Team Borax."

Borax is, I believe, the only active ingredient in Roach-Prufe. Maybe cockroaches are on the increase. Or perhaps someone thought it would also be useful on blogroaches.

20 Team Borax WILL RID YOUR HOUSE OF FLEAS! I live in Florida, have one dog and 2 indoor cats. I came home from a trip and was literally attacked by fleas! I bombed, I bathed, I treated the outside, I finally called Orkin for the tune of $175! Still I had fleas. I was buying bombs at Walmart and the cashier told me..."Go put those back and grab yourself 10 boxes of Borax laundry booster, go home and vacuum, throw the bag away miles from your house, sprinkle the borax thickly, revacuum in 4 days and I promise your problem will be gone!" I listened (but still bought the bombs) I bombed, then that night vacuumed and sprinkled the borax. I left it on for a week because after one hour of having it down I noticed zero fleas! (I had just bombed but had fleas jumping on me while sprinkling the boraz) I now keep a small amt in my vacuum bag all the time just in case, and I spot treat my pets resting areas an hour before vacuuming...I was SEVERLY infested, contemplated moving, cried night after itchy night...and can honestly tell you Borax saved us! It's a $15 or less treatment...you can't afford not to try it! Don't forget the edges of the bathroom floors, behind the fridge, stove, around all baseboards and so on. One miss...and you are DOOMED again! I hate fleas. I pray to never have a problem with them again! Good luck to you all!

Um... the subject wasn't really fleas, Vicki... are you just Spam for the Borax company?
