¿Quien es mas sexy?

Is it Elijah "Froggie" Wood (Frodo) or Orlando "Potato Nose" Bloom (Legolas)? Come on, you know you want to know.

Quite frankly, I think Sam's the diamond in the rough here. He might be fat, but he's loyal (girls appreciate that) and he can cook (girls appreciate that too.)

I had gone a day or so without a Tolkien post, hadn't I? Can't have that. This should be a tie-in to Steve H.'s food porn. Go for it, Steve! Steve hearts my Tolkien posts.

Don't make me tell you where old Steve wears HIS ring.

Ha ha ha ha **cough**hack**cough**

I can't decide between Frodo and Sam. (Legolas is too delicate; I used to like that, but no more.) Frodo has those deep, soulful eyes, but Sam is so sweet and so very loyal. And not all that fat, certain Stoors to the contrary.

Legolas is far too pretty. As a woman - I should think that it would be very, very disturbing to date a man who has longer hair than I and is also prettier. But he's still nice to look at.

Why isn't Aragorn on this list? :) Viggo Mortensen is a moron - but Aragorn is HOT.

Of course, in real life, women would pick the orc with the biggest wallet.

I'd take Sam, but is Gandalf considered too old for this purpose, or too wizardly?

Posted by: Patty at January 21, 2003 at 04:34 PM

Well, Ian McKellen is one of my favorite actors. He was really hot in his younger days, and he still ain't bad.

Steve: so you were the inspiration for the MTV spoof?

Re: Aragorn. Viggo Mortenson really isn't my type; I guess not for the kiddies who post to that Live Journal forum either. Legolas is the He's-So-Dreamy-Shaun-Cassidy for the twenty-first-century teen crowd, while Frodo fills that necessary David Cassidy niche: discuss.

Well, you already know what I think. Frodo rocks my world.

Sent a law school friend a link to my latest coffee porn piece, and I have to say, she got very frisky for a girl who thinks of herself as a model of decency.

Posted by: Steve H. at January 21, 2003 at 06:50 PM

Eowyn, of course.

Posted by: Michael Lonie at January 21, 2003 at 06:53 PM

Yes, definitely Eowyn.

Posted by: David Jaroslav at January 21, 2003 at 08:30 PM

Coffee! And David was my favorite Cassidy.

Legolas is 'delicate' and Frodo "ooh, I've dropped my sword AGAIN" isn't?

I'll take the Ninja elf, please. And I think they're referring to Haldir as "potato nose" in the thread.

It's so hard to keep track.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at January 21, 2003 at 11:42 PM

I have to third the motion for Eowyn. A rare beauty, no doubt.

Posted by: James P at January 21, 2003 at 11:43 PM

Frodo is too cute. Sam isn't cute enough. Legolas looks like a cheerleader at my high school. I'd go for Aragorn.

Posted by: Joanne Jacobs at January 22, 2003 at 05:33 AM

Nah. Too scruffy. Though we'll see what he looks like when he's all cleaned up and crowned.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at January 22, 2003 at 09:24 AM

Ooh, thank you Joanne.

Actually, most of Aragorn's appeal is the fact that he's scruffy and a little dirty. I've seen Viggo cleaned up - and he's really not sexy in any way.

And Eowyn is beautiful - but not exactly my thing...

When we went to see TTT, there was a group of teenage girls in front of us. Every Legolas sighting caused deep sighs and twittering. Then Haldir showed up and they went bonkers. When Haldir met his fate I swear two of the girls shrieked and for a minute me and my friend thought they were going to cry.

Very scary!

As for me, I'll have to pick Aragorn, I love scruffy [g] Theoden had pretty blue eyes too. In the books, I've always fancied Elrond.

Oh my god -- now I'm afraid to see the movie in the theater again. I've been lucky so far that none of the times I went to see it (only three, okay?) was I subjected to the Lovestruck Teenage Girl posse.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at January 22, 2003 at 12:14 PM

Andrea, I've been twice, but I saw FotR ummmm [whispers] 10 times in the theater. I've lost count of DVD veiwings.

I have friends in Fremont -- about 90 minutes away -- and it seemed every time we went up there to spend the weekend, we'd end up going to see FotR. Not that that's a bad thing!

I need to catch up with those friends who are on 5 for TTT!

As for the teenyboppers, I never saw Titanic, but from what I've heard, the reactions to Legolas and Haldir seem to be similar to the Leo DiCaprio vapours.

Posted by: Ith at January 22, 2003 at 02:08 PM

Yes, it does seem that a fifth viewing is approaching the obligatory point...

Posted by: David Jaroslav at January 22, 2003 at 06:31 PM

Legolas is nice to look at, but I'd worry that all my hair products would suddenly go...missing...

Aragorn may be scruffy, but I like scruffy. :)

(And I do kinda like Haldir...)
