Banned list update

Now IP address 64.105.100.81 will have to find someone else's comments to troll. I did not put up this blog so snowbound bored high school students could play games.

Update: go ahead, bitch. Keep changing your IP. I'll keep banning you. Tonight's my night off.

Ever hear of a dynamic IP address? I'm glad you removed your tirade. It did make you look very silly.

I am stupid and I didn't get the message!

[I have no life!]

Do you not have a life?

Posted by: Andrea Harris at February 17, 2003 at 07:17 PM

You really are a simple-minded little slitch, aren't you? Andrea "removing her tirade"? Guess again, sweetie. It's still there. You just have to click the "read the rest" link. Of course, that would require, um... being able to read.

If you want to keep switching IPs until Andrea has banned all of Covad, I'm sure she'll be happy to oblige.

Can one troll one's own site? How does that even work?

Andrea, as a fellow sinus sufferer, I say bitch slap the taste right outta her mouth...figuratively speaking of course.

Ah, the magic of Movable Type's amazing Rebuild facility. Ooh, I've committed censorship! I'm so bad!

Posted by: Andrea Harris at February 17, 2003 at 07:47 PM

I saw this cool little plug-in for MT we're thinking of installing...it will take all the vowels out of all comments from a specified IP address. It just looked so fun.

I've been working on a translation program that looks for common idiot buzzwords (ie, "Bush Junta, etc) and depending on numerical frequency of the idiot words, will automatically translate what they've written into a randomly-generated block of pre-programmed text (ie, "Atlanta makes it against the law to tie a giraffe to a lamp-post or telephone pole")

I've been testing it out locally on my machine and it seems to be working fairly well. When I have the time, I think I might figure out a way to implement it in MT.

Ironically enough, I got almost all of my idiot word list mostly from LaCarre's recent piece and the collective works of one ljuteFisk.

Saying you've committed censorship actually gives the ring of truth to the troll youu just banned. It's not censorhsip unless the government does it.

I was joking, because that is the kind of thing these nimrods would say.

I banned half the subnets in Germany a few months ago because of a troll. Screw that noise. Dynamic IP addresses are fine and dandy, Laura, but newsflash! MovableType will allow us bloggers to ban your entire network if we so wish.

God, I hate trolls.

Ssssh, Rachel, how can we have a VRWC if you reveal our secrets? And she was so excited that she had a dynamic IP...like that was something new.

Censorship claims always crack me up...it's your site, no one has the right to comment unless you give it to them. This is 'Merica, damn it, where property rights mean something.

It's good to have heroes :)

Now I'm feeling all gung ho if I ever have to deal with trolls!

Posted by: Ith at February 18, 2003 at 11:41 AM

I knew you were joking. Really, I swear. ;-) That doesn't change the validity of what I said.

I'm a snowbound highschool student, but I mostly jsut show up for the semi-naked frodo pictures. Mostly.

If you have the time Andrea, do what Jay Caruso does to the infamous 'dave'. He chenges the comment to some antithesis of the original. For some reason, it seems to work and the trolls go elsewhere.

Laura must think Mclean, Virginia is a really dull place, to have to want to fight with you for entertainment.

Heh heh heh.
