HELP THE HELPERS

Project Mercury Hope, run by Canadian soldier Russell D. Storring, has collected seven tons of goods to be delivered to Afghan orphans. Problem is, they have nobody to do the delivering.

Perhaps you work with, or know somebody who works with, an international transport or distribution firm. Hit the above links for details; global blogosphere publicity is guaranteed.

I would have thought the UN might have been interested in such a project right about now.

Still, it's best if individuals can show and lead the way. Best of luck to Russell.

Great work.

The UN and most NGOs are not going to be helpful. Trent Telenko covered this one a long time ago.

I really hope we can hook Mercury Hope up with some shipping, and help this Canadian crew get their stuff to Kabul. Tim, thanks a million for the publicity mate!

Tim, I still have some contacts with DHL who might be interested. Do you have some contact details for Russell?

O'll ctc our Nth America agent- might be able to organise something, but I doubt anyone will uplift 7 tons FOC.

I can't believe nobody here knows this.

Seven tons is nothing. Chief Wiggles and Operation Give are doing things by multiple container loads -- twenty to forty tons at a time. Their focus up to now has been toys, comfort items, and medical supplies, but I'm sure they'd be happy to let other efforts merge and/or hitchhike. To give you an idea of the scale of their operations, earlier this summer they got cheated out of twenty or thirty thousand dollars in container deposit fees -- and kept right on truckin'.

Contact the man.

Why the F*** should we continue pouring money into this place.

The Moslems never stop going on about their 'brothers' let them sort it out.
