CONCERN REWARDED

Congratulations to Kofi Annan, winner of the German Media Award for 2003. Kofi won the award for helpfully saying exactly the same thing about every single issue, thereby allowing journalists to re-use previous Annan press releases with only a minimum of changes.

He's such a nice guy, I'm sure he would make a great headmaster at some pleasant, orderly high school.
As for leading an organisation, which is supposed to reign in dictators, prevent ethnic cleansings, etc. , he's not up to it; probably no-one is.

The award was fixed because there is no way that Tom "I'm disappointed" Daschle could lose this award in an honest contest.

I am deeply concerned.

I love the Google search. I'm afraid it perfectly sums up poor Kofi's completely ineffectual stewardship at the UN. Maybe we're lucky though. A more vigorous secretary general might really screw things up.

Ah, the ever-popular platitude search. Works for pretty much any pol - like Tom Daschle for example...

Yes, it works for anything you type in - that's the beauty of Google. I think the point is 6160 hits returned for Annan, vs. 812 for Daschle. So Kofi is 7.5 times as Deeply Concerned as Daschle.
