RADIO ALERT

I’m on Richard Glover’s ABC Radio show at 5.30pm, along with writer Geraldine Brooks and The Australian’s Greg Sheridan.

Subjects for discussion include the return to Australian television of Doctor Who. I have strong opinions on this issue, and will not be silenced, no matter how much Sheridan tries to shout me down.

Oh, and we might also talk about ABC budget cuts.

Non-idiotarian guests on the ABC . . . obviously not Radio National.

I hope the ABC website provides a transcript (I'm in Melbourne).

I'm with you, Tim - return Doctor Who to ABC television ASAP! Even if the people who watch it will be, well, tards.

I hope Tim campaigns for a double-header with Dr who and, say, Monkey or The Goodies, just like the old days

Go to the VIZ site- there's an animated GIF titled "Doctor Poo" which feature the Tom Baker era Doc travelling through time and space looking for a quiet spot to snap one off. The finale with Davros is a real hoot.

What's the link Habib?

It's on this page here
(Hope I typed that right.)

I thought Greg Sheridan's fullscale rant about the inequity of the Sydney Uni Greiner decision was life-affirming. You were lovely too Tim.

Posted by: Geoff Honnor at August 7, 2003 at 07:14 PM

Sheridan is one lively customer! I could sense him seething about the Greiner decision while I made my own mild (extra mild?) comments. He was still talking about it after the show.

Nice job, Tim. (Are you sure it's not your reasonable evil twin?)

On Greiner, it initially sounded like you were presenting as your own the view that tobacco is the greatest evil in society . . . your sarcasm was definitely extra-mild.

Yep Sheridan's Sydney uni rant was superb. Nice job too, Tim.

You done good Tim, though you did get cut off once or twice.

We've all heard about people with a 'good face for radio'; could I just add that Geraldine Brooks has a good voice for blogging.....

What is this Greiner decision you speak of?

Posted by: Jerry at August 8, 2003 at 11:00 AM

Good job, Tim. Pity nobody strangled that Geraldine Brooks, with the whiney babydoll voice. Obviousy, still recovering from her lobotomy.

Radio comedy duo Martin/ Molloy's comment on Spielberg's 1996 "Dr Who: The Movie":

"well, the average special effects budget for a Spielberg movie is about $600 zillion, while the average special effects budget for four half-hour Dr Who episodes is about ... what? ... four shillings and six pence. So Spielberg's going to have quite a lot of change left over from this one."
