Sing aschlong

Kim Du Toit lamented here on the "death of music" -- music, that is, that people from all walks of life could sing along to and even play at home on their own instruments. Well, Jim Treacher, with a little help from PBS, is taking his own small steps to rectify this lack in our society. (Um, that last link not safe for work, homes with children or, pets, or adults, and if you click on it your name probably automatically goes on John Ashcroft's Sinner's List. What, you didn't know about the list? Number twenty-four, baby!)

(The management would like to apologize for the totally tasteless joke in the title. We blame it on the deep schism between Hillary Clinton fans and Ann Coulter fans -- it's messing us up in the head. Can't we all just get along?)

Arrrrrggghh!
Just a wee spot of a qustion Andrea.

Do you invite bloggers to set up under your spleen banner, such as that of Tim Blair?

If so, is there a cost?

I am but a simple under-resopurced journalist with a burniong desire to be heard.

Money I have none, but determination and the ability to rant and rave about things political . . . yeah!!

I invite some bloggers, yes. I don't charge anything. (I'm not allowed to under the license of both Movable Type and my hosting service.) I do have limited server space, but I can squeeze a couple more blogs in. I invited Tim over out of pure selfishness -- the service he was on previously was regularly crapping out and I needed my daily dose of Blair.

But I'm always glad to get people into blogging! Let me know what you want to call the blog, and if you like, how you want it too look (colors, etc.), and I'll set up a subdomain and send you the password and login page. (Actually, I have to email my web hoster to set up a subdomain, that's one thing I can't do from here. That usually takes a day or two.)

PS: if, for some reason, having a Spleenville blog doesn't appeal to you, I can send you links to a bunch of free blog sites. You'd have to put up with banner ads if you don't want to pay them. (I'd avoid Blogspot, as they seem quite overloaded, though their service has improved slightly lately.)

I publicly decry Treacher's removal of my truly classic "Gonna See My Gal" from the PBS website just to make room for his x-rated exposition on my family-rated theme:

"Goin' downtown,
Gonna see mah gal;
Gonna sing her a song,
Gonna show her my ding-dong."

Clearly there is some kind of copyright violation going on here.
