How to do stuff

I haven't had much to say recently -- and I've been too busy to say much anyway. But here's a couple of things. Seems a lot of people aren't as willing to go through the trouble and do a lot of cursing and screaming and sweating smart as I am, and need a little help doing some things that are -- tcha! -- so easy! So here is a guide to blogging with Movable Type for those like all normal people to whom the MT documentation is too abstruse. (Hey, I could have called it "MT Blogging for Dummies" like some other people have.)

Speaking of stuff for dummies, someone has uttered aloud the wish for a "Democracy for Dummies." Well, here's a plan that has worked, more or less efficiently, for a couple hundred years or so.

This public service announcement has been brought to you by Spleenville, where you will always find plenty of ego to go around.

Andrea, I am now in deep debt to Dean Esmay, for he has installed MT into my new domain...yes, I have 'arrived'!!! So actually, I am very appreciative of the public service announcement!!

I will announce the new blog when I have something in working order!!

I have personally rescued both Sharon Ferguson and Ben Kepple from Blogspot.

Which puts me one of up on Andrea.

Care to make a race of it, Andrea? :-)

The plan is here, actually. What you linked to is a laundry list of grievances, which when you read it over could apply even better to the modern-day bureaucracies than it ever did to George III.

Actually, closer to July 4 I'm thinking of starting a meme to get people to read the Declaration. What do you think? You with me?

Sharon: congratulations! I can't wait...

Dean: o ho, a challenge... we shall see who runs out of webspace first, hmm?? ;)

Dave: uh -- yeah, that works too! =)

And look how short it is, even with all those amendments tacked on -- compare to the European Union Constitution, all two-thousand articles or something of it, that tries to take care of every last little thing right down to the allowed amount of dust one can shake from a dustmop at one time, or so I have heard.

My Dragon Style Kung Foo is greater than your Shrew Style!! I destroy you weakling woman! Ha!

Methinks you have underestimated my crane style before... I may not be fast, but I am thorough. Oh yes. We shall see. (Bows. Returns to demolishing stone blocks with bare feet.)
