On the difficulty of liberal deprogramming

Some people have taken the president to task for his plane-flying stunt. From the tenor of the remarks I sense some vestiges of the "liberal" attitude that the military is, in a sense, something to be looked askance at. I did not say that these guys are anti-military, merely that the anti-military attitude that has poisoned the country since the sixties has colored their perception of this event. Here is a quote that may change their minds, or at least remind them of something that they may have forgotten or discounted in their worries that the president's actions were too "third world" (to whom I wonder?).

As for myself, I ignored the whole thing until it was safely over, because I am a big worrywart and I was afraid something would go wrong and there would be a disaster and I could not stand the thought of the media orgy of hysteria that would ensue. It was bad enough when that Kennedy sprog crashed his plane in the ocean. And when Reagan got shot (and not even killed)? Don't remind me.

To the hysterical lefties out there mealymouthing that it was all just a PR stunt...

SO FUCKING WHAT?!?!

LICK IT UP, CUZ BUTT-BOY CLINTON ONLY MANAGED TO GRAPPLE THE THIGH OF SOME AIRFORCE ONE STEWARDESS...AND GW TOOK THE CONTROLS OF THE PLANE AND FLEW IT DAMN STRAIGHT and he did it for the crew on the Lincoln, who understood what risks he was taking. Sink-Emporer Clinton is a military-loathing pussy.

YEAH! I thought I was the only one who thought that the President was foolishly putting his life in great, GREAT danger.

Phew. He made it.

So, how's he coming BACK?

Is he staying on-board Lincoln 'til she pulls in? Flying out on Marine One? Or is he going to do the really, really, really cool (and kinda foolhardy) thing, and get catapaulted OFF the Lincoln?

I have to say that if I had the opportunity to go on a fighter jet that was going to land on an aircraft carrier, I'd jump at the chance.

'Cause for some reason a flight like that isn't available for $25 at the county airport.

Coming at then of this kick-ass theater, it sent a message: There is no more Second World. Old Europe, Great Russia... no matter. You are either with USA or you are a Terrorist....

I am that this was new for the Treasury Types [SS]. I wonder how they felt to be dissed to their faces.
