Experiment: take this Mark Morford column, and run a phrase or two from it -- pick one at random, it doesn't matter -- through Google's translator. Try English-to-German then back to English.
I picked this:

First to German:
Wer ist Ihr Vati, beeyatch? Thump Thumpthump auf dem manly Kasten des großen Befreiers Amerika! Liberale saugen! Gehen Sie, war! Es Ist MillercZeit.
And got this:
Who is your dad, beeyatch? Thump Thumpthump on manly the box of the large Befreiers America! Liberals suck! If you go, was! It is Miller time.
See how it now makes more sense? Puce just lifts Morford's sentences right from his column verbatim. For shame!
Posted by Andrea Harris at April 20, 2003 01:56 AMEXACTLY what I suspect also.Not long ago I had a g/f who moved back to Germany,so during one of mt many e-mails I decided to let Yahoo translate it to German.I sent the german messege and the English version together,when I talked to her on the phone the next day she was still laughing(It was supposed to be funny anyway)but she was laughing about the translation.She couldn`t understand half of what was translated.Since I`d saved the e-mail I translated the TRANSLATION back to english and it was almost all gibberish.I think the translation program translates(or tries to)each word literally,not in context as sentences but as individul words,and in German or English there are very few stand alone 1 word sentences.So it translates individual words literally,no proper syntax,and you get a confusion of partly recognisable words,but meaningless,translate THAT back to English and BEHOLD........Puce. I just wonder what he is translating from english too and back again.German sounds most likely to me also.Whatever the case I think it`s brilliant.Puce has done what I and so many others would love to do and that is,stump everybody.I only started reading blogs about 2 weeks ago I`m pretty much an internet retard and I want to keep it that way but I know a little about computers.Kelly Bundy used to be my word mangeler hero,now I`m starting to lean towards Puce.It`s genius I give him a 4.0 that`s an outstanding military grade.
