Yes, I'm fooling around with the blog, thanks for asking. [Gee, you, uh, sound a little bad tempered there, um... well -- carry on!]
I can't get things quite right here. I've had one complaint about the orangey, but I was tired of white. I hope I have picked a light enough color to read against. I kind of like the color scheme, but I am still tweaking the layout. The new title graphic was made with the Gimp for Windows. That program is still a little buggy, but I'm too lazy to re-install my copy of Photoshop, which is out of date anyway. I'll get around to it... I need it to make gifs -- the guys who make the Gimp are all "you need to get the gif license first." Feh.
Posted by Andrea Harris at March 29, 2003 01:00 AMPS: by "Out of date" I mean my copy of Photoshop is an older version, v. 5.0 to be exact. But it's mine, all mine.
Posted by: Andrea Harris at March 29, 2003 at 01:13 AMOh, I like the new look!
The colors are fine! The graphic is great!
Andrea, you just keep making it better and better.
Sometimes the changes come so fast I almost get whiplash, but I like it, I like it, I like it!
p.s. Good luck on the novel, kiddoe.
Posted by: roscoe at March 29, 2003 at 02:27 AMI like the colors. And who cares what other people think? It's your blog...
One comment - maybe it's my browser, but when I hover on a link, it disappears. Is that your intention?

I like the new colors - kind of warm and homey
Posted by: mary at March 29, 2003 at 09:01 AMOops. I wasn't ready to post yet. Just wanted to add... I've been thinking about downloading Gimp. Is it easy to install and use? I mean REALLY easy...for complete dummies.
Posted by: Lynn S at March 29, 2003 at 09:36 AMI wouldn't call the Gimp easy. It's at least as difficult to use as Photoshop, and it's set up a little differently too (for one thing, most of the functions are done from the right-click mouse-button menu, instead of a conventional menu bar). You also have to download the GTK environment and install it first, but the page provides that program too (it's the stuff that makes the display of all the little Gimp windows and menus possible -- they are based on the look of Unix windowing systems, so they look a little different). But if you get it all installed properly, and don't mind a lot of experimenting, it's a good program. The help files are html-based, so they come up in the browser.
Posted by: Andrea Harris at March 29, 2003 at 10:19 AMhey, i didn't complain. i just commented that i personally hate looking at orange. :D which is why i - as a delicate anti-orange flower - would enjoy the availability of a pale, uninteresting skin.
i'm a coward. i admit it.
Posted by: chris at March 29, 2003 at 11:53 AMWell, I like the colors and layout.
I even made a link button.
