An Announcement

Hey people. Here's a new rule: you will not get into circular arguments on my blog, with me or with anyone else. I will simply turn off comments to that post, and if you try to take the arguments to another post, I will ban your IP.

Also, you do NOT take it upon yourselves to tell me that I am not seeing what I am seeing, or reading what I am reading, or whatever, merely because YOU have interpreted that thing differently, or have some sort of expertise in some related field. Unless you are the actual photographer, writer, whatever, of the thing in question, all you have is an opinion, just like me. You repeating your opinion over and over will only irritate me.

This is MY GODDAMN BLOG MY GODDAMN WEBSPACE I PAY FOR IT. You don't. There is a reason I took down my Paypal account. I did not want to be beholden to anyone -- I do not provide this blog as a service to anyone but ME. This is a place for me to post my own opinions and thoughts. I don't mind the comments, as long as you don't stroll into my personal space as though you owned the place. Here is a place where you can get your own personal space and fulminate and show off. This is MINE.

No, I am not in a very good mood at all, thanks for asking.

I'm sorry.

I don't know what I did, but I'm sorry.

It's okay, I say it at home a lot, too.

It wasn't you, dude.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at March 26, 2003 at 01:17 PM

You go, girl! I do not understand how people can read a blog and demand that it match their wants and desires. How ego-centric can they be?

Posted by: Kay at March 26, 2003 at 02:44 PM

You're, like, so hot when you defend your blog's sovreignty. :-)

Posted by: Asparagirl at March 26, 2003 at 02:57 PM

Everything you said; hope you feel better soon.

I suppose a pic of yer breasteses is out of the question?

Posted by: Kim du Toit at March 26, 2003 at 07:39 PM

Good call. By the way, I don't think you even wrote this post. It seems obviously doctored. And too bad about the PayPal account, I'd really like to give you some money. You're doing a great service to humanity here.

Posted by: Flipper at March 26, 2003 at 09:24 PM

Hey Flip, why don't you go away? No one wants to read that shit, so take a hike.

Posted by: chris at March 26, 2003 at 09:50 PM

Hi Flipper! Great way to get banned!

Posted by: Andrea Harris at March 27, 2003 at 12:25 AM

Uh huh. I felt generous, so I spent some time making you feel important by trolling your ignorant site. It was a mission of mercy on even moral footing with Operation Iraqi Freedom itself. I've contributed to your feelings of self-righteousness, and made you feel a little more important than you are. I'll go away now, though, and I promise I won't shed a tear.

P.S. There was nothing wrong with that photo.

Posted by: Flipper at March 27, 2003 at 12:33 AM

I'm sorry but your reaction in this matter has not been very good at all.

You single out my comments from that post, because I did not agree with you when you said that photo was a fake.

Now, feel free to believe whatever you want, but what is the point of having a comment section if you don't allow people to respectufully disagree with you? Nobody was telling you what you were or not seeing, I was just telling you that the reality is that the photo is authentic.

Why pointing this out bothers you so much is truly puzzling.

It's kind of sad to see grown men pout.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at March 27, 2003 at 12:49 AM

Was that supposed to be an intelligent response?

Posted by: ElCapitanAmerica at March 27, 2003 at 11:12 AM

Well, geez, no, El -- it was meant to be a snarky slam. I didn't waste more than half a brain cell on it. Sometimes even the big brains have to rest, you know?

But I see you are still pouting. Perhaps your nursing of hurt feelings has caused you to miss the issue, which is this: neither you nor I took that photograph. It is my opinion that it looked somewhat "enhanced." Your opinion is that it is not. But you weren't content with my clinging to my opinion in the face of your superior one; you had to change my mind until it jibed with yours. So you came on with the credentials, the links, the lengthy rebuttals. One thing you don't have is MY EYES. So at this point, unless you can produce a signed, notarized affidavit from the photographer, and from the many hands the photo has passed through since, that that picture is unaltered from the time it was taken, I will continue to believe that it has been edited. And that really is my final word on this matter.

You sound like the people who don't believe we ever made it to the moon.

I'm starting to feel like somebody explaining that the earth is round to somebody who believes it's flat. After all, from simple observation, it does seem flat. And the Sun also seems to orbit the earth.

Oh well.

Posted by: ElCapitanAmerica at March 27, 2003 at 02:03 PM

Dude, don't you know when to let go? Stop. It. Now. I haven't banned you, because you haven't decended to ad hominem attacks. Much.

It's a big internet. Go play in someone else's yard. Final warning.
