Baltic Blog comes to you live from Estonia. Today the subject is local elections, with photos of campaign posters in Tallinn.
The Baltic states are on my list of places to go to if I ever go world travelling again.
Posted by Andrea Harris at January 11, 2003 11:17 PMBeen to Estonia and Lithuania. I have to tell the guys that Estonian women are some of the best looking and nicest I have ever met. Much like Croatia, they don't do ugly. Talinn also has some damn good bars and pubs. Might not be the best place to go if you don't like being cold though. One bonus, a good sauna. And you don't wear any clothes in a sauna. Yum.
Posted by: Andrew at January 12, 2003 at 11:51 PMWell, I don't mind the cold, as long as I have enough clothes and (eventual) access to a heated room. I prefer cold, or at least the sort of "cold" we get in Florida in the winter, to the sort of heat we get here. When I went to Europe many moons ago in July it was in the forties and fifties most places; I was in heaven, weatherwise. Anyway, the Baltic states, all that northern region, has always fascinated me for some reason. I was in Europe in 1981, so going to that part of the continent wasn't feasible at the time. My father went a few years later and got to go to Denmark, lucky guy.
