Website closure threat!

Alert! Mr. Kim du Toit is threatening to shut down his Reader Mail section if no one visits! And that would be a bad thing. For instance, you'd miss stuff like his perfect rejoinder to silly letters like this. So what are you waiting for?

I checked it out, but have no plans to return. He makes some great points, poltically, but most of his site seems to revolve around which gun is better. Geez, if it works and you've got bullets, what else is there?

"Geez, if it works and you've got bullets, what else is there?"

That sounds mightly close to heresy to me, but then I'm a gun geek :) .

He does talk about a lot more than guns, but their variety is one of his main foci. I have learned a lot about the different types since I have been going there, and they are not all the same, Chip. But, it only takes one bullet, etc, etc.

Ok, True confessions time: I'm an (old) Army Brat. Had a Congressional appointment to West Point in the late 60's but couldn't pass the physical (heart operation, age 6). So I have a passing familiarity with guns, but don't (currently) own any. I rely on my rapier-like wit for my self-defense. Well, that and a couple of rather nasty crosssbows over the fireplace mantle. I do, however, prefer the grace, power and silent operation of the longbow.

The longbow has its strengths, but concealability is always a problem.

I'm probably the only college-educated person in the U.S. who bought a pistol to protect himself from his own sister.

I used to have a page called "Gallery of Pinheads," in which I reamed out people who criticized my site. Unfortunately, I didn't offend enough people to keep it going.

Mmm, crossbows...

I used to be good at archery (the only sport I have ever been good at; I'm a lousy pool-player too). One day I plan to take it up again, before I completely lose all muscle tone and have to sit around betting on my slaves for quatloos with all my other fellow gamesters here on Triskelion.

I'll bet you the intestines of two of my clients, and I don't mind if I lose.
