I’m attempting to update the layout and style so the site may look wacky for awhile, as I’m using a substitute template. If things don’t work right give it a few minutes (okay, an hour or two) and hopefully everything should be up and running.

I know what you come to this site for. It isn’t snark and wit and trenchant observations on the follies of life on this Earth, it’s for news of Doctor Who! It’s okay, you can admit it. Anyway, here’s a Daily Mail article on the new Doctor and his new companion. My judgment? Not bad. At first the bow tie made me twitch, but it’s not one of those dorky stiff bow ties like the Nation of Islam dorks wear (is it racist to call members of Nation of Islam dorks? Don’t care). And I love the shoes. I was getting sick of the Converse trainers. (I believe the girl is wearing them this time.) Also we get to see the outside of the “new” Tardis. I’m actually less than thrilled with it — it looks too new to have been bumbling around the universe for centuries at the hands of a guy who barely knows how to drive it, and wasn’t the Tardis a beat up old time machine about to be scrapped, the equivalent of a car up on blocks, to boot? Well maybe there’s some handwave explaining that.

Whoops, sorry there folks, life got in the way of posting. Well that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it. Anyway, I’ll be back Real Soon Now. In the meantime, I’ve noticed that some of you have had some problems getting formatting in the comments to work. I’ve actually got Textile formatting enabled, which means that standard HTML tags aren’t necessary and in fact won’t work. Textile is much easier than HTML anyway — here’s a link to a helpful page on the coding. But what you’ll probably use the following most:

_underscore_ to make italics
*asterisks* to bold
+plus sign+ to underline

I had a post on the latest series of Torchwood, which I have not seen myself, but as it was full of internet-garnered spoilers and was really rather more frivolous even for this site I decided to move it over to my Livejournal site. Go there if you feel like it.
